Create an IP interface

Unisphere provides monitoring and management for NVMe/TCP directors, NVMe/TCP ports, NVMe/TCP endpoints, IP interfaces, and IP routes.

Steps

  1. Select a storage system running PowerMaxOS 10 (6079).
  2. Select System > iSCSI+NVMe and click the NVME tab to open the NVMe dashboard.
  3. Do one of the following: .
    • In the Actions panel, click Create IP Interface.
    • Click IP Interfaces and click Create.
  4. Select a director from the drop-down menu.
  5. Select a port from the drop-down menu.
  6. Type a value for the IP Address.
You specify the IPv4 address in dotted decimal notation. You specify the IPv6 address in colon-hexadecimal format. The IP address must be unique within a Network ID combination.
  7. Type a value for the Prefix.
You specify an IPv4 prefix length value in the range of 1 through 30. You specify an IPv6 prefix length value in the range of 1 through 128.
  8. Type the value for the Network ID.
Valid values range from 1 through 16383.
  9. Type a value for the VLAN ID.
Valid values range from 0 through 4094. This setting fails if same VLAN id is used for more than one IP interface on a specified NVMe/TCP Protocol enabled physical port.
  10. Optional: Type a value for the Maximum Transmission Unit.
Default value is 1500. Valid values range from 1200 through 9000.
  11. Select an option for Centralized Discovery Controller from one of the following options:
    • Autodiscovery of CDC IP address—Multicast DNS (mDNS) is enabled on the interface and it performs registration with the CDC if available.
    • Advertise DDC IP Address—mDNS is enabled, and this allows it to be discovered directly by hosts.
    • Autodiscovery disabled—mDNS is disabled on the interface.
    • Manual Configuration of CDC IP Address—mDNS is disabled on the interface. Enter values for CDC IP Address and CDC Port Number (default is 8009).
  12. Click OK.
